Sam Stephenson

Sam Stephenson – Coach / email:
Sam started playing volleyball for Kirtland Airforce Team as a civilian, while working for Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque New Mexico. This was the start of a 15 plus year career playing at a high competitive level, stretching from Chicago and Dallas areas. Sam began coaching volleyball as his daughter started gaining an interest in the sport. His daughter was a member of Nitro volleyball teams (2005-2010), four year starter at Parish Episcopal School, member of TTU Raiders, and SHSU BearKats volleyball teams.

Sam began his involvement with club volleyball in 2005. In 2006, Andy Gass approached Sam (while attending his daughter’s practice session at Parish Episcopal School), with an interest and opportunity to join Nitro coaching staff as his assistant for the upcoming season. This will be Sam’s 10th year with Summit-Nitro.

Sam was the Varsity Assistant Coach at Parish Episcopal School from 2007-2010. Parish went to the Final Four for TAPPS volleyball all four years, where in 2008 they won the State Championship.
